This growth can be attributed primarily to the reopening of land-based casinos and gaming machines in January 2022 after COVID-19 restrictions were lifted. The iGaming sector claimed the largest share of GGR with DKK 256m (£30m), a minor decline from the previous year’s DKK 263m (£30.86m), representing a 43.05% share.
Betting came in second, experiencing an 8.34% drop in GGR to DKK 209m, occupying a 35.18% share. However, gaming machines and land-based casinos saw impressive growth of 81% and 27%, with revenues of DKK 103m and DKK 27m, respectively.
